General Information

The Seals swim in Division 2 of the Central Maryland Swim League (CMSL).  The program provides a fun and competitive atmosphere for swimmers of all ability and runs from the beginning of June through the end of July with daily practices on Monday through Friday with five dual meets scheduled on Saturdays throughout the season.  Swim Team registration is open to kids of all ages as long as they are active members.  The main qualification for our younger swimmers is that they are able to swim one lap of the pool (25 meters) unassisted.

Congratulations to the Seals on a great 2014 season.  The Seals would like to thank the coaches (Joe, Courtney, Tyler, Sophie, Brady Cassie, and Stephanie) for a season of fun and excitement and would like to wish the best of luck to the graduating seniors: Calvin Luking, Stevie Ruppel, Brooke Stevens, and Brandon Spinnato.

Straehle Invitational Championship Meet, Wednesday July 23rd

The 2014 Straehle Invitational Championship Meet will be held Wednesday, July 23rd at Carroll Aquatics Swim Club (Located at the Four Seasons Sports Complex).  To be eligible for this meet, swimmers must qualify by being faster than the posted Straehle time for the event and must have swum in at least two CMSL dual meets during the season.  Contestants may be entered into no more than 3 individual events and a relay.  Each team may enter 1 relay team in each relay event.  Coaches will talk with the Straehle qualifiers to discuss entries.  Rollingwood will be required to provide volunteers to help at this meet and further information will be posted once assignments are known.  Straehle shirts will be able to be ordered through the website.  Warmups will start at 8:00am but team times and lanes will be assigned.  Relays will start no earlier than 1:00pm.  See the table below for additional meet information:

Division II Championship Meet, Saturday July 26th

The 2014 CMSL Division II Championship meet will be held on Saturday, July 26th at Andover Swim Club.  The regular CMSL dual meet format is followed for this meet.  Each team is limited to 3 entries in each of the individual events and one relay team in each relay event.   Each swimmer may swim up to three events, including relays and must have competed in at least 2 dual meets during the regular season.  Rollingwood is responsible for supplying the following workers for this meet: 6 timers (3 first half, 3 second half), 1 runner, 1 heat winner, 1 clerk of course and 2 table workers.  (the runner/heat winner/clerk of course will only be responsible for 2 events).  We will put out a call for volunteers among the selected families.  Miscellaneous Programs will be available for purchase and Andover's Tiger Café will be open, selling pastries/baked goods and lunch items (pizza, fries, chicken tenders, burgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches and Italian sausages) throughout the meet.   Please bring chairs & umbrellas (Andover only has a limited number available).

A signout sheet is posted on the bulletin board and parents are asked to sign out if you know you are not able to make the meet.  Do not assume because your swimmer is not in the top 5 or 6 in an event that he/she will not be selected to go.  The entries for this meet will be posted to the meet table on the afternoon/evening of Saturday July 19th (after our last home meet with Roland Run).

Additional meet info is listed in the table below:

Division II Championship Meet, Tee Shirt Orders

A customized Division II Championship shirt is available by pre-order (see below).  Competing swimmers names will be proudly displayed on the back of the shirt.  A very small amount of shirts will be available to purchase the morning of the meet so swimmers are urged to preorder.  Shirt orders are due to Andover on Sunday July 20th.  Due to the fact that parents may not know if their child is swimming in the meet until July 19th/July 20th, tee shirt orders can be sent submitted indicating that the order is conditional (i.e., ordered on the condition that the swimmer is in the meet).  If you are interested in a divisional tee shirt, please send an email to Bill with the child's name, desired size, and an indication as to whether or not the order is conditional.  Tee shirt sizes are YM, YL, YXL, AS, AM, AL, AXL, and A2XL.  The cost of the tee shirt is $15.00.  Checks can be made out to Rollingwood Pool Inc and will be collected the morning of the meet when the shirts are distributed.

End of Season Party and Awards Ceremony, Saturday July 26th

The Seals will celebrate their season with an end of season party and awards ceremony on Saturday evening, July 26th at Rollingwood (the evening of the Divisional meet).  The team will provide dinner, dinks, and dessert and we ask that families bring side dishes to share and additional dessert items.  After dinner we will have an awards ceremony to distribute Straehle, Divisional, and Team awards.  Following that, we will have swimming and hopefully some fun pool games.  We are looking for volunteers so please email Bill if you are able to help organize and run some games/contests.  We will post more on this event as it draws closer.
