Swim Team (2016)
The Seals swim in Division 2 of the Central Maryland Swim League (CMSL). The program provides a fun and competitive atmosphere for swimmers of all ability and runs from the beginning of June through the end of July with daily practices on Monday through Friday with five dual meets scheduled on Saturdays throughout the season. Swim Team registration is open to kids of all ages as long as they are active members. The main qualification for our younger swimmers is that they are able to swim one lap of the pool (25 meters) unassisted.
The Seals lost a tough meet on June 25th to the Roland Run Stingrays. The team is looking forward to its 2nd dual meet on July 2nd at home against the Crofton Cats. The RW meet results have been posted in the meet table and individual top times have been posted (Individual Times link above and to the right).
If you missed the Memorial Day weekend registration, its not too late to become a Seal. The 2016 swim team registration form is available from the link below. Please fill out the form and turn it in to Coach Joe with your payment or you may send your registration to Bill Protzman, the swim team coordinator via US mail (mailing address is at the bottom of the form).
Only Active members are eligible to swim on the Rollingwood Swim Team. the registration fee is $75.00 per swimmer for the first three swimmers (fee is waived for 4th + swimmers) and must be submitted with the completed application. Please make checks payable to "RollingwoodPool Inc.". Swimmers cannot attend practice without having submitted their registration. Also, please note that $14 of the registration fee is paid directly to AAU to cover the cost of swimmer insurance.

Inclement Weather Policy
The Seals will practice rain or shine as long as the pool remains open. If the pool is closed for weather, practice will not be held.
Team Suits 2016
Team suits are available from Cy's Swim Shop (on Frederick Road in Catonsville). This is the first year of a two year suit. The suit is "Bravo" from Tyr and the prices are listed below. Cy's will be at Rollingwood on May 30th for fittings and suit purchases. If you need to purchase additional swim gear, please stop by Cy's and tell them you are a Rollingwood Swim Team member and receive a 10% discount.
Latex swim caps are provided to each swimmer by the team and Silicone swim caps are available for purchase from Bill Protzman. In addition, Rollingwood has a team store with Seals tee shirts, sweat shirts, shorts, hoodies jackets, and backpacks. In order to have team gear orders delivered at the start of the season, we have a cutoff date of June 3rd. If there is still a lot of demand following the first order, we may open the store again for a second order but items would not be delivered until mid-season. Rollingwood provides both morning and evening swim practices. Please note that evening practices during the regular season are intended for those families that cannot attend the morning sessions and as lanes will be limited, we ask that you please attend the morning practices if you are able.
Regular Season Practice Schedule (June 20th - July 29th)
Regularly scheduled practices will commence on Monday, June 20th and will run through the end of the season. Both morning and evening practices schedules will be observed in accordance with the following schedule.

Practices will be held Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings, utilizing two lanes of the pool. Practice times are as follows:
Practice is an important part of improvement and as the season is short, we respectfully ask that parents try their best to make sure that their children attend practices as scheduled. Practices will be held rain or shine.

Pot Luck/Pep Rally, Friday July 1
We will have a pot luck pep rally at Rollingwood (in the pavilion) on Friday July 1st starting at 6:00pm with coaches remarks at 7:00pm. Bring a dish to share and the Seals will provide drinks. Click here to signup. Swimmers will be able to make some posters to place around the pool while parents help set up the pool deck for Saturday's meet.
Rollingwood vs Crofton Aquatics, Saturday July 2
Our second dual meet of the season will be held Saturday July 2nd at Rollingwood. A sign out sheet has been posted to the team bulletin board. Please sign out by Wednesday June 22nd if you are unable to attend. See the table below for times and the volunteer sign up link.
4th of July Week Practice Schedules
Due to the 4th of July holiday and the 21228 Invitational meet, practices the week of July 3rd will be adjusted slightly. See the table below for the amended schedule:
Rollingwood 21228 Invitational Meet, Wednesday July 6 (Rain Date Thursday July 7)
We will be holding our 21228 Invitational Meet on the evening of Wednesday, July 6th at Rollingwood. The meet is designed to be an evening of fun, bringing swimmers together from the local Catonsville area to socialize and swim in some fun individual and relay events. Door prizes will be announced through the evening from local vendors in the Catonsville community. We’ll also have a 50/50 raffle along with some great music and Rollingwood’s famous open pit turkey and beef sandwiches. Swimmers that want to participate in this meet MUST sign up.
Andover Novice Meet, Wednesday July 13
The Andover Novice Meet will be held Wednesday, July 13 (rain date Thursday, July 14). The meet will start at 5:45pm and Rollingwood warmups will be from 5:00pm to 5:30pm. The novice meet is focused on swimmers that do not usually receive ribbons in dual meets and swimmers must be slower than the published qualifying times. Medals will be awarded for 1st through 3rd place and rosette ribbons will be awarded for 4th through 12th places. Swimmers that want to participate in this meet MUST sign up. Coaches will talk to swimmers about this meet or feel free to ask the coaches if your swimmers qualify. A signup sheet will be posted on the bulletin board shortly.
